C.   MIXED (hybrid of A. & B.)

A.  In-Clinic Treatment : In one hour treatment we use a special light to activate it at the dental office.

B. Take Home System :  It needs previous office activation, and after the patient sleeps confortably during 6 (six) nights for the upper and other 6 (six) for the lower maxilar teeth (average) according to the concentration of the active ingredient.
It is absolutely fantastic: while you sleep your teeth will begin to turn white, night by trough night, so you can notice them whiter during daytime.
You will need dental trays for the gel.

C.  Mixed:  If you choose this treatment or if the your dentist recommends it, first of all we will carry out the one hour whitening process in our dental practice and later, the 6 nights take home whitening system will be used.

D.  Long Period Treatment:   This treatment is rarely used and is only necessary for patients with very low permeability teeth of if they have had flourosis or if they had ever used tetracycline antibiotics at an early age.

This treatment is similar to treatment B. Take Home System, except the procedure is carried out for up to 2 months for the upper teeth and 2 months for the lower teeth, making a total treatment time of 4 months. 

PRODUCTS:   We use Ultradent products from the USA. The active ingredient of the gel used for the take home treatment is Carbonide Peroxide 10%, 15% or 20%, whereas Hydrogen Peroxide 38% is used for the 1 hour treatment.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The oxygen liberated from the Carbonide Peroxide and Hydrogen Peroxide whitening gels, permeates through the surface of the teeth from one side to the other and so deeply cleansing their surfaces both externally and internally. This is the only method of thoroughly cleaning teeth without causing them harm.

Does it harm my teeth? The answer is NO!, these treatments are absolutely harmless. It is oxygen that penetrates and cleans from the outside to the inside. 

Will my teeth be sensitive?
Yes, during the treatment, according to the patient a sensitivity can appear in one or two pieces, in other occasions in all the pieces and in other no sensitivity will be experienced. That “sensitivity” finishes the day after you complete the exhibition to the gel , in few cases 48hs, is not necessary to be alarmed, it is due to take it as a part of the treatment , it appears when the patient ingests very cold drinks , recommending during the period of treatment to ingest tempered drinks (room temperature).

Pretreatment to the whitening system
If you’re teeth have tartar you will first want a professional cleaning pretreatment. So then the gel will easily penetrate you’re teeth, without being “stopped” by tartar.

How long will my teeth remain white?
Depending on you’re habits, between 4 months to 2 years.
4 months if you smoke a lot or have dark coffee several times per day.
2 years if you have a whitish diet.
At Prodental clinics we will hand you a list of food and beverage that will keep your teeth white for the longest period of time.

How may I keep my teeth white with my daily oral cleansing?
You should brush you’re teeth daily with an Oral B electric toothbrush for 1 minute each maxilar. Our dental staff will be training you , don’t worry , be happy.

Is there a post whitening service?
Yes there is. Of course the time needed for your service will depend directly upon your habits. Normally the average period of time between services is every 8 months.
If you had taken the take home treatment you will only require the gels (as you would still have the special dental trays).
This time you will only need to use them for half the original period, which usually means 3 nights for the upper teeth and 3 nights for the lower teeth.
Most of our USA and European patients take extra supplies of gel, sufficient for two or three services, it is recommend that they are stored and kept in a refrigerator.

EFFECT:
As you will see from the photographs, very dramatic changes are produced. With your new white smile you will look younger, sexier and will be more self confident, allowing you to make a big impact on all social occasions. You will also feel and look cleaner.
In some cases the change is so drastic that we can even compare it to the effect of having “excellent cosmetic surgery”.
